Fulbright Chile and the University of California, Davis announce the opening of the call for applications for their joint Fulbright Chair Program, active since 2022.

Each year, Chilean scholars and researchers have the opportunity to spend 3 to 4 months as visiting professors at UC Davis, with the goal of strengthening ties in research, teaching, and institutional collaboration between Chile and the United States. Apply TODAY!

Actividades

This program is aimed at established scholars whose work demonstrates a strong commitment to excellence and the capacity to make an impact in their fields, as well as to foster intellectual exchange between Chilean institutions and UC Davis. Activities may include teaching, research, co-leading workshops, collaborating on courses, or organizing public-facing academic events during the stay.

The program seeks to recognize accomplished academics whose work has the potential to make significant contributions to contemporary societies around the world.

Through this opportunity, participants will be able to conduct academic stays for teaching and/or research at the University of California, Davis.

Financiamiento

The Fulbright UC Davis Chair Award is jointly funded by Fulbright Chile and the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) and offers the following benefits:

☑️ US$ 32,400 for living expenses and round-trip international airfare, distributed as follows:

UC Davis contribution: Funding is provided through a cost-sharing arrangement between UC Davis Global Affairs and the host college, school, or academic unit. Each contributes US$ 8,100, for a total of US$ 16,200 from UC Davis. Participation depends on the availability of internal funds; therefore, institutional support is not automatic and requires the financial commitment of the interested academic unit.

Fulbright Chile contribution: US$ 16,200.

☑️ Access to UC Davis facilities and services, including offices, internet connection, laboratories, libraries, and other resources necessary for the successful completion of the proposed academic work.

☑️ Limited health coverage through the ASPE program.

☑️ Coverage of J-1 / J-2 visa fees.
