Fulbright Specialist Program: Call for Applications Now Open
Fulbright Chile invites U.S. scholars, academics, professionals, and Chilean institutions to apply for the new call for the Fulbright Specialist Program (FSP), a distinguished initiative of the U.S. Department of State that promotes academic collaboration and cultural exchange between the United States and Chile.
The program offers U.S. academics the opportunity to undertake short-term (2 to 6 weeks) academic and research stays at Chilean universities and research centers. Specialists contribute their expertise to institutional development while learning from Chilean higher education practices, strengthening ties between institutions, and fostering long-term collaboration.
Selected specialists will engage in knowledge exchange, collaborative projects, and capacity-building activities that benefit both U.S. and Chilean institutions.

Chile offers a unique environment for academic exchange. Its universities and research centers provide robust infrastructure and a dynamic intellectual community. From cutting-edge STEM and cybersecurity research to initiatives in public health, sustainable development, and democratic governance, Chilean institutions present fertile ground for impactful collaboration.
Specialists will have the opportunity to engage directly with faculty, researchers, and students, contributing their knowledge while gaining insight into Chilean higher education and research practices. This exchange strengthens cross-cultural understanding and creates long-lasting partnerships between institutions in Chile and the United States.
Deadline and Application Process
For the current call, Fulbright Chile has five slots available. Academic and research visits may take place starting June 2026 and must be completed by September 2027.
